Mike drives to 2nd--Nate 16th
Its KCCS Night #3 and we welcome our 305
driver, Mike Van Haaften, back to the track this year. In Mike's time
trials, Mike times 3rd quick with a 17.385. This gives Mike the 2nd row
outside of the 3rd 305 heat race. On the start of the heat race, Mike
jumps to 3rd right away and in turn 2 pass the 26 of Andy Bates. Coming
into turn 4 he takes the lead away from the 92c of Cody Ambers. Mike
leads the rest of the race to take the win for his first heat race of
the 2012 season. This earns Mike the 3rd row outside for the 305 A
Main. The 35 of Kevin Hetrick does not make the show, which moves Mike
up one row to 2nd row outside. On the first lap, the 92c, 71c, and 4
are all involved in a big wreck in front of the National Sprint Car Hall
of Fame. This brings out the red flag and results in a double file
